7100 km to a place we can call Home.
For a long time we've contemplated a move to Nova Scotia from where we live on Vancouver Island. Now I know some of you are shaking your heads and telling us that we live somewhere beautiful and we absolutely agree. It's spectacular. But along with this beauty has come a rise in self-centeredness, hustle and bustle and rising property prices all too common to areas with a high number of retirees from the city. In our case Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto. Now we don't want to go back to some idyllic time of horse and buggy but we do want to get to know our neighbours and feel like we can contribute to a community.
To that end....Our family is moving to the Annapolis Valley in 7 weeks.
This is a move that we've researched and dreamed about for a long time and now things are falling into place and it's time to hit the road! Our children are excited to start a new adventure and we're looking forward to meeting some new people. While there are so many conflicting stories about NS both from people who live there and people who don't, we are confident that things will work out for us and that we'll be able to find a place to live, farm, work, and happily raise our family. Almost all the people we've spoken to so far have been lovely. And to the few nay sayers, I have to wonder if they have the ability to bloom where they're planted. Some people will never be happy no matter where they live. We're grateful for this adventure and can't wait to get to Nova Scotia!
