Charter Members
Nova Scotia has always been known as a home to a wealth of musical talent. From the early beginnings of Celtic, Acadian and other roots music to the constantly evolving music of today, Nova Scotia continues to celebrate its artists at home and abroad.
Since 1989, Music Nova Scotia has been working to foster, develop and promote the full potential of the music industry in Nova Scotia. Based in Halifax, this non-profit member services association is devoted to advancing the careers of music industry professionals in songwriting, publishing, live performance, artist representation, production and distribution, and to help ensure that Nova Scotian musicians are heard on the world stage. Music Nova Scotia provides one-on-one consultations, program funding, workshops, showcase opportunities including a weekly Open Mic, a daily electronic e-newsletter and online community at musicnovascotia.ca.
The association promotes Nova Scotian music at major music conferences and festivals throughout North America and at their biggest event - Nova Scotia Music Week - held every November with four jam-packed days of performances, workshops and Gala Awards show.
