Power of Green Conference

Doing Good While Doing Good Business

More than 400 delegates are expected to gather in Halifax on Oct. 21 for a one-day conference on the value of sustainable business practices to businesses, the economy and society.

The third Power of Green conference will offer business, industry, policy makers and community leaders an opportunity to collaborate on how sustainability can increase competitiveness, innovation and economic growth.

The conference will be hosted by the Department of Economic and Rural Development at the World Trade and Convention Centre.

The conference is inspired by the province's economic growth strategy, Opportunities for Sustainable Prosperity, a companion to the Environmental Goals and Sustainable Prosperity Act.

Featured keynote speakers for the Power of Green conference include Ray Anderson, founder and chairman of Interface Inc.; Nicholas Parker, executive chairman of Cleantech Group; and Toby Heaps, president and editor of the Canadian magazine Corporate Knights.

Ray Anderson has been referred to as the greenest chief executive in America for revolutionizing the carpet and floor covering industry with his dedication to environmentalism.

Early registration rates are available until Sept. 30. They are $250 for businesses and government, and $180 for students and environmental and non-governmental groups. For more information on the conference or to register, visit www.thepowerofgreen.ca.
