Charter Members
The CBU Students’ Union has been in existence for over 25 years and is the official voice and advocate for all students attending Cape Breton University. The Students’ Union is a self-governing organization incorporated by an Act of the Provincial Legislature. The Union is comprised of approximately 3200 students at any given time and employs between 50-60 part-time student employees
The two primary functions of the Union are to advocate and serve students. The Students’ Union owns and operates two businesses on campus—Caper Convenience and The Pit Lounge. The Students’ Union organizes many social events on campus and offers a wide range of services, including a free tutoring service, bus passes, handbooks, emergency bursaries, free legal advice, a campus newspaper, and a women’s centre; just to name a few.
