Region of Queens Municipality
Situated mid-way along the South Shore, just 90 minutes from either Halifax, Yarmouth or the Valley, the Region of Queens Municipality is the local government authority for the whole of Queens County.
Created in 1996 as a voluntary amalgamation of the former Town of Liverpool and County of Queens, the Region of Queens Municipality consists of 2,760 square kilometers bordering the Atlantic Ocean in the south and incorporating some of Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site in the north.
Known for it’s idyllic white sand beaches, inland forests, lakes and rivers, the main town is Liverpool, Port of the Privateers, nestled at the mouth of the Mersey River.
