QVISTO Inc. is a Halifax-based company specializing in high-resolution webcam solutions and long-term timelapse video projects.
 
The company was founded by Ralf Pickart after he ran a website with several Halifax-based webcams as a hobby for more than four years. The increasing number of visitors and the positive feedback led Ralf to expand the project into a business covering the entire province. In 2009, QVISTO Inc. and Nova Scotia Webcams were born.
 
“Nova Scotia is such a beautiful province and high-resolution webcams are the perfect way to show this hidden gem to the world”, explains Ralf. Right now, 25 weather-proof multi-megapixel cameras are focused on some spectacular Nova Scotia scenery, including Halifax Harbour, Peggy’s Cove, the South Shore plus several locations along the Bay of Fundy coast and Cape Breton.
 
The cameras are online for 24 hours/7 days per week year round and can be seen on http://www.novascotiawebcams.com 
 
Ralf Pickart is convinced: “This is absolutely unbiased tourism marketing and people all over the world love it!” About 50,000 virtual tourists are visiting the live feeds every month. Over the next year, many more cameras are going to be installed.
 
Ralf Pickart emigrated from Germany to Nova Scotia 6 years ago. He has an extensive background in IP Camera solutions and Information Technology. Beside the scenic camera work, QVISTO also focuses on long-term camera projects like time-lapse videos for construction companies and traffic camera solutions.
