The Nova Scotia Trucking Safety Association is a not-for-profit workplace safety resource centre for the trucking industry in Nova Scotia.

We coordinate and provide quality health and safety programs through training, certification and partnerships with industry, stakeholders and government.

Our primary goals include:

a. establish and maintain ownership of an industry managed loss control program

b. ensure compliance with regulatory bodies

c. promote workplace injury prevention

Our membership includes those trucking companies who are in the following Standard Industrial Classification Codes

a. General Freight

b. Moving and Storage

c. Liquid Bulk Haulers

d. Dry Bulk Haulers

e. Trucking Other (refrigerated vans, etc.)

There are over 1100 trucking companies who are members of our Association here in Nova Scotia which represents over 7300 Nova Scotians. Every product consumers use has been transported at some point by truck. Our economy depends on the transportation industry. "If you got it, a truck brought it".

 

The Nova Scotia Trucking Safety Association is an industry funded, not-for-profit organization directed to save lives and reduce the toll of workplace injuries.  They coordinate and provide quality health and safety programs through training, certification and partnerships with industry, clients and government. 

The trucking industry employs more than 15,000 Nova Scotians of which more than 7,000 are truck drivers who want to come home at the end of their shift to their families safely.
