Charter Members

The StFX Students' Union, better known as The U, represents all the students at StFX and is mandated to stand up for the rights of students as well as providing quality services. Such services are free and include advocacy, a drive home service, a housing office, tutoring, and a full campus police force which is entirely student run.

The U is comprised of just over 4000 students and still employs the largest executive board in the country. On top of this it also provides over 200 sub executive jobs available for students year round. The U is completely student run and is expressed through our motto "For Students, By Students".

The simple yet unique design of The Union's logo, the "U", has set this organization apart from others. "The U" is a name that resonates with students and staff across campus, a name in which everyone on campus is familiar with. Student engagement is very important to members of The U and was demonstrated in 2008 and again in 2009 when voter turnout soared to the highest in the country, peaking at 60.4%, beating the federal election both times.

In the fall of 2008, The U was given the recognition of the Best Frosh Week in the nation by MTV Canada, which was followed up by the best Shinerama Campaign in the country. These widespread acknowledgements prove time and time again how the students at StFX are some of the top leaders in our education system today.
