Family Service Association of Halifax

Family Service Association of HRM is an independent, fully accredited not-for-profit, community based agency. Working within the Halifax Regional Municipality serving a population of approximately 400,000 people, we offer professional, confidential counselling and education services to enable people to function more effectively at home, in the community and in their work environment. We provide a wide range of individual, couple and family counselling services, addressing such issues as relationships, parenting and family, depression and anxiety, stress, violence and anger, grief and loss, separation and divorce, gambling problems, substance abuse, credit counselling and other issues that may impact an individual or a family. The Association has been in operation for thirty seven years and we have made a difference in the lives of over 35,000 men, women and children. Our experienced staff of psychologists, social workers and counsellors offer such professional services as counselling, therapy groups, mediation, courses conducted in a workplace and educational services. Our offices are located at West End Mall on Mumford Road and at the Cobequid Health Center. We work to help build and maintain healthy relationships, healthy and happy families and ultimately healthy and happy communities. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, employ a staff of thirteen and quite frankly, consider ourselves fortunate to help individuals, couples and families enjoy a full and rewarding life in Nova Scotia.
