Nocturne 2009: Art at Night
Nocturne 2009: Art at Night is the second annual festival bringing art and energy to the streets of Halifax between 6:00 p.m. and midnight on Saturday, October 17th. The completely free event showcases and celebrates the exciting arts scene in Halifax. The Nocturne program, map, bus, and walking tours guide residents and visitors alike to a variety of exhibitions in galleries and public spaces throughout the city.
The signature event, designed and planned by volunteers within the community, is an opportunity for everyone to experience the art of Halifax - in a whole new light.

Studio Revolved
Shows start at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm
Studio Revolved is an evening of exciting in studio contemporary dance with performances by Nova Scotia’s leading Contemporary Dance Company Mocean Dance, independent artist Kym Butler, and The Halifax Dance Young Company. The public will travel from studio to studio to see original works performed by some of our finest dancers in an intimate setting. Each studio will reveal a completely different performance atmosphere. A full revolution of this dance installation will take 45 minutes and revolutions begin on the hour. This will be an experience like no other. We look forward to seeing you at HD. Studio Revolved will take place at Halifax Dance, Maritime Centre (1505 Barrington St, lower level with entry at Barrington St upper level) Admission is FREE.
Halifax Dance has been on the cutting edge of dance for 36 years. We offer classes in most dance disciplines to all ages and levels from recreational to professional. Our own Halifax Dance Young Company has been charming audiences for 21 years. Halifax Dance supports three Companies in Residence, providing these professionally trained dancers with the opportunity to return or remain in Nova Scotia to build their lives and have viable dance careers in their home province.
